Demi Lovato & Her Shocking Revelation About Her Past Drug Use

Read the pop star's shocking revelation about her past demons...

In recent years, Demi Lovato has been nothing but open and honest with her struggles. Maybe even too honest at times. However, her just-published interview with "American Way" goes in deep, with details about the pop star's struggle with drug abuse, mental illness and body image.

"I lived fast and I was going to die young," Demi told the magazine of her battle with drugs, which included alcohol, cocaine and OxyContin. "I didnt think I would make it to 21."

Not to mention, her tense relationship with parental discipline when the pop star put her family into sometimes awkward positions. "I'd say, What are you going to do? I pay the bills! I put my parents in an uncomfortable position. There's no manual on how to parent a pop star," she recalled.

Demi also wasn't afraid to admit that her demons with body image kicked off at the tender age of 2-years-old. "Even though I was 2 or 3 years old being around somebody who was 80 pounds and had an active eating disorder its hard not to grow up like that," she said in reference to her mother, Dianna Lee Hart, who struggled with bulimia since she was a young girl.
