Lady Gaga stages a protest against Donald Trump outside Trump Tower in New York City earlier today
In the wake of Hillary Clinton's loss in the 2016 presidential election, our Mother Monster Lady Gaga wasn't going to sit back and sulk.
Instead, the "Perfect Illusion" singer marched over to Trump Tower in New York City earlier today after Donald Trump was elected president and sternly held a sign that read "Love trumps hate." Lady Gaga also took to Instagram to share her own image of her protest, adding the caption, "I want to live in a#CountryOfKindness #LoveTrumpsHate He divided us so carelessly. Let's take care now of each other."
Gaga had been one of Clinton's most vocal celebrity supporters throughout the race, using social media and public appearances to campaign for the Democratic nominee. She even took part in a midnight rally the night before election day, performing a duet with fellow Clinton supporter Jon Bon Jovi. As the final results revealed that Trump had won, Gaga changed her Twitter name from #VoteHillary to #CountryofKindness, sharing a message to her fans to insist that love can still conquer.
